MIM52100

MIM52100 bearing steel has good comprehensive performance, high hardness and uniformity, good wear resistance and high contact fatigue strength after quenching and tempering. Steel has good hot workability and good machinability after spheroidizing annealing.
MIM52100 bearing steel has good toughness, good tempering stability and small deformation during heat treatment. The carbide distribution in the steel is uniform, the carbide network is not easy to precipitate, and it is easy to normalize to eliminate, by normalizing can eliminate the network and coarse carbide tissue. However, the compressive strength and wear resistance are insufficient, and the workability is poor. In the case of a decarburized layer with a residual carbon content of 0.6-0.7% on the surface of the steel, the overheating sensitivity of the surface layer increases due to the reduction of carbides. After normal heating and quenching, the surface hardness can still reach 60-62HRC, but its bending strength is reduced by 40%-50%. The grain size of the surface layer reaches grade 7, and the core is grade 10.
